This award is made annually to those financial institutions that go above and beyond to actively encourage members to save, increase savings, save automatically, and build wealth.
2022 Savings Champion Recipients
Much like the Designation of Savings Excellence Award, the Savings Champion Award is an annual, industry-respected award that recognizes organizations who effectively and actively promote saving strategies during America Saves Week. Savings Champion award designees are comprised of organizations outside of financial institutions; such as nonprofit organizations, employers, and cooperative extensions, schools, universities, and more.

The American personal savings rate is at its lowest level since the U.S. financial crisis in 2008, at 6.0 percent of disposable income, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and is continuing a 60-year downward trend line.
