As one of the over 1,400 groups participating in America Saves Week 2018, you know the importance of motivating your community to set a goal, make a plan, and save automatically. But America Saves Week is also an opportunity for us to assess our own saving status and encourage friends, family, and employees to save. After all, saving at work is one of the most effective ways to save automatically.
If your workplace offers a retirement plan, we encourage you to use America Saves Week as an opportunity to encourage your employees to increase their retirement contributions by at least 1 percent.
Here are two ways America Saves Week makes it easy:
1. The employee action handout template is a tool available for employers to co-brand and hand out in the workplace. Employees can fill it out to either split a portion of their pay through split deposit intoa separate savings account they own, enroll in a workplace retirement account such as a 401(k) if they are eligible, or increase their contributions to their workplace retirement account. 2. The saving at work flyer can be co-branded and posted in your workplace encouraging your employees to save automatically at work and take the America Saves Pledge.
